Tiruchirappalli (tiruchirāppaḷḷi) ( pronunciation ) (formerly Trichinopoly in English), also called Tiruchi or Trichy, is a city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu and the administrative headquarters of Tiruchirappalli District.
